Richmond Art School holds first Open Day on 15th July

Budding artists are being invited to explore their creativity at Richmond Art School’s first Open Day taking place at our Parkshot campus on Saturday 15th July

The campus will be a hive of activity combining demonstrations, taster sessions, exhibitions, master classes as well as a craft fair, street food and jazz performances in the courtyard.

Head of School, Jera May has been preparing for the event with her highly experienced team and said: “We are excited about opening the doors to our dedicated Art School so the public can explore all the programmes and facilities on offer at RACC. We welcome everyone whether complete beginner or experienced practitioner looking to develop their skills and techniques further.

“We are very fortunate to have beautiful studios with specialist equipment to allow our students to build their technique and proficiency at all levels. Our teachers are dedicated professionals many of whom are practising artists themselves.”

Taster sessions are being offered in classes as diverse as Glass Decoration to Wild Life Drawing with Tortoises. The event will also showcase the end of year show for the HNC/HND programmes passionately named Evoke reflecting the inspirational nature of the work in Ceramics, Photography, Fine Art and Graphic Design.

The doors will be open from 10am to 5pm on the 15th July and will culminate in the Jazz School’s summer concert in the Queen Charlotte Hall at 7pm.
