Photography for Wellbeing

This course is suitable for those adults looking to take part in a photography course that focuses on improving health and mental wellbeing.

Course Content

You will be given support, encouragement and tips to build your focus and concentration whilst learning the basics of photography techniques such as:

• Introduction to composition, including rules of thirds
• Portraiture
• Landscape photography
• Macro photography

Whilst improving your skills of observation and also getting out and about and making new friends, you will be able to enhance your focus and mindfulness.

Entry Requirements

Our course is part of the Wellbeing Project, a national project researching how learning can help your wellbeing. You will need to attend an interview to confirm your eligibility for the course and fill in a questionnaire at the start, during, and at the end of the course.

This course is free for those who are experiencing stress, low mood or difficulty sleeping (100% concession).

First Class Requirements

If you have a digital camera, please bring your own one with a fully charged battery and SD card with space for taking photographs. If you don't have one, you can borrow one from us to use in the class or on the college campus site grounds.

Attendance Requirements

It is necessary to attend all classes.
