Block Printing, Painting and Image Transfer for Textiles

Learn the basics of one of the oldest types of printmaking in this one day workshop using block printing, free painting , image transfer using the heat transfer presser

Course Content

You will be introduced to the process of block printing including how to paint directly onto calico and the use of heat transfer.

You will cut blocks on the day before practicing block printing, painting & image transfer onto samples, moving onto printing a final piece on calico.

All the samples can be used for personal projects including cushion covers, tote bags, handkerchiefs , wall hangers, fabric paintings or anything you wish.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

Suitable for all including beginners

First Class Requirements

Bring some simple designs – sketched from images that you want to produce or want to be inspired from.

Bring some old recycled cotton / calico fabric, or any recyclable fabric to paint on – must be light colour – no dark colours such as black/ navy
