Head of School - Humanities and Performing Arts

Hours: 37 hpw

RACC is a further education college, with a mainly adult mission, dedicated to helping learners unlock their talent through a wide range of vocational and personal development activities.  We are based in the heart of Richmond, and we are in the final stages of an exciting capital project which will be ready this autumn. 

 

Reporting to the Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning, we are looking for an experienced and innovative manager to develop our School of Humanities and Performing Arts, and provide inspirational leadership and management to create an outstanding resource for learners and our local communities.

 

As Head of School, you will be responsible for creating and delivering a vibrant programme of courses and activities in drama, dance and music, to be delivered in our brand new theatre and studio spaces.  You will ensure that there are exciting options available for all our communities, including accredited 16-18 Study Programmes, vocational courses for people wishing to work in these industries, courses for adult learners with learning difficulties or disabilities, and a wide range of leisure, enrichment and personal development activities.

 

You will have a track record of securing rapid improvements to quality, and hold a professional teaching qualification, a degree (or equivalent).  You will also have experience of managing staff and an excellent teaching record with evidence of CPD and a passion for facilitating learning.

ESOL Tutors (Part time)

We are looking for experienced ESOL Tutors to teach on a range of entry to level 3 courses across a range of age groups.

 

Duties include preparation, delivery and assessment of a range of ESOL qualification to mainly adult learners but also to 16-18s from entry to level 2.

 

Courses start in September and are daytime, evenings and weekends.

 

Applicants should hold a CELTA teaching qualification. Experience of working teaching similar groups of learners would be an advantage.

We are looking for an experienced interior design tutor to teach on a range of qualification courses (including BTEC) and leisure courses. Courses include Design Styles, Light and Lighting, History of Style, Space proportion and planning and a level 2 certificate in interior design.

 

Courses start in September during evenings and weekends.

 

The successful candidate should hold a professional teaching qualification and have relevant industry experience. Experience of teaching BTEC qualifications and Garden design would be an advantage.

Reprographics Assistant

Hours: 18 HPW (0.5 FTE)

We are seeking an enthusiastic Reprographics Assistant who will support the production of college publications and provide a reprographics service for internal and external clients.


The successful candidate will have reprographics and pre-press experience and knowledge of production software including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Basic knowledge of design software and print and document management systems would also be an advantage.

 

You will have excellent customer service skills, be able to manage and prioritise your workload and have good knowledge of Adobe Indesign, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

English Literature Tutor (part time)

Contract Type: Fixed Term

 

We are looking for an experienced tutor to teach English Literature from level 1 to level 3 for the coming year across a range of age groups.  Courses start in September and happen during the daytime. 

 

The level 3 class is for Access to HE: Humanities which includes a full module based on drama, poetry and novel analysis so it would be best if you were an English graduate although teaching experience at this level on qualification courses will always be taken into consideration. 

 

We also need a tutor for various leisure courses on poetry and literary figures and their work which happen throughout the year.

 

The successful candidate should hold a professional teaching qualification (or be working towards one) and have experience of working at the relevant levels.
