Portcullis Trust Lecture Series: Peter Snow - The Waterloo Experience

Where: Queen Charlotte Hall, Parkshot, Richmond TW9 2RE

Peter SnowBack by popular demand, Peter Snow gives a follow on talk at RACC based on his new book on Wellingtonand the Battle of Waterloo.

Waterloo was the climactic showdown between Napoleon and Wellington who faced each other for the first and only time across the sodden rolling Belgian farmland south of Brussels on the morning of Sunday, 18 June 1815.

More than 150,000 French, British, Dutch and Prussian soldiers fought an epic, bloody and decisive encounter that ended the Napoleonic Wars and led to Bonaparte’s final abdication and decades of international peace in Europe.

Museums at Night: Richmond's Retro Fashion Evening

Where: Museum of Richmond

When: Thursday 14th May

Timings: 17:00 - 20:00

Ticket price range: Free of charge

Our highly talented fashion students are taking part in this exciting event when The Museum of Richmond will becomes a Fashion House! they will be demonstrating their artistic flair by showing outfits they have designed which have been inspired by the Museums collection.

 

There will be a historically themed catwalk, with outfits provided by Richmond’s Cancer Research Charity Shop. Walk among our stunning unseen costume collection. . Be captivated by early 20th Century film and photographs of Richmond’s fashionable past. Wear your favourite vintage outfit to take part in our online image board. Enjoy drinks, nibbles, even some family arts and crafts, and help us raise money for Cancer Research.

Richmond Park Marathon

2014 MarathonSo far there are three of us in the team, Geoff Varrall, Chris Jones and Julian Holden and we have three more places available.

Join us on the day to run or cheer the team over the finish line from the Portcullis Gazebo from 12.00, close to the East Sheen car park.

RACC leisure festival of  learning free courses,  tasters and new prospectus.

Enterprise and employability event

Where: RACC, Parkshot, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 2RE

When: Thursday 18th June

An event to promote enterprise, employability and voluntary opportunities with local employers.

Companion Cycling for RACC

When: Wednesday 24th June

Timings: The event will start at 12.00 midday

A one hour LLDD student cycling challenge in Bushy Park.

 

Companion CyclingCyclingCompanion Cycling is a charity which enables people with special needs, regardless of their age or ability, to cycle on specially adapted cycles in Bushy Park.

 

 

Join us on the day to cheer the cyclist, the event will start at 12.00 midday.

This is a new event for Portcullis. There will be more details available nearer the date.
