Kew Wind Orchestra Concert: The Ship that never Sailed... and other tales

After the great success that was their October 2015 'Movie Magic' concert, the Kew Wind Orchestra returns to RACC in May 2016 to perform 'The Ship that Never Sailed... And Other Tales'.

 

A talented group of musicians, the Kew Wind Orchestra possesses the gift of making fantastic music fun and accessible to the whole family.

Portcullis Trust Lecture: JMW Turner RA, the artist and his house at Twickenham

In 1813, England’s great landscape painter JMW Turner built a small house between Twickenham and Richmond Bridge, to his own designs.  This became a quiet, semi-rural base for him, an escape from the pressures of the London art world and a home for his father, old William. The riverside and the view from Richmond Hill inspired many beautiful paintings during these years. The house is now owned by Turner’s House Trust and much-needed restoration has just begun.
