Easter Jazz School

Where: RACC, Parkshot, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 2RE

When: Tuesday 31st March

Timings: 10am to 6pm Monday to Thursday

Ticket price range: £199

The Easter Jazz School is now a well established event offering an intensive experience over three days for all instrumentalists and vocalists drawing upon our expertise, resources and nationally recognized team of tutors.

Each of your days will contain a wide range of activities with an emphasis on developing material for the performance opportunities taking place through the course and in the evening jam sessions. Workshops and seminars throughout the three days will contain:


  • Theory and Improvisation Workshops
  • Ensemble groups
  • Instrumental classes
  • Improvisation workshops

NEW for 2015 Easter Soul and Jazz - 14-19 year olds

Where: RACC, Parkshot, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 2RE

When: Wednesday 1st April

Timings: 10am to 5pm

Ticket price range: £45

NEW for 2015 a practical Easter course for 14 - 19 year olds.  The course aims to develop playing in a group while developing a number of Soul and Jazz pieces.  

The day is open to all instrumentalists and vocalists and you should have achieved grade 4 or have equivalent experience on your instrument. If in doubt please contact the college for advice. You may have previously attended the Soul and Jazz Group. 
The day will have a practical theme as the repertoire is explored and developed with appropriately challenging activities to allow for different levels of experience. 
Various themes will be explored throughout the day such as: 

• Establishing good grooves and feel within the rhythm section 
• Balancing phrasing, energy and expression throughout the ensemble 

Hustings Event

Where: RACC, Parkshot, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 2RE

When: Friday 10th April

Timings: 17:30 to 21:30

The Hustings are a meeting at which candidates in an election address potential voters. There will be a broad representation including the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrats, Green and UKIP Party. Refreshments and Bar Facilities will be available on the evening.

Richmond Chamber of Commerce and Richmond and Twickenham Times General Election 2015 Hustings will be chaired by BBC's Paddy O'Connell and hosted by RACC Parkshot in our splendid new theatre on Friday 10th April 2015, 5.30 – 9.30pm.
Come along and enjoy a lively evening of Q&As with YOUR local politicians, followed by an opportunity to meet your General Election candidates.

Peter SnowBack by popular demand, Peter Snow gives a follow on talk at RACC based on his new book on Wellingtonand the Battle of Waterloo.

Waterloo was the climactic showdown between Napoleon and Wellington who faced each other for the first and only time across the sodden rolling Belgian farmland south of Brussels on the morning of Sunday, 18 June 1815.

More than 150,000 French, British, Dutch and Prussian soldiers fought an epic, bloody and decisive encounter that ended the Napoleonic Wars and led to Bonaparte’s final abdication and decades of international peace in Europe.
