Tutor Approval Required? Yes – You will be required to show evidence of relevant skills either by bringing your certificates or doing an initial assessment task. You will also need a successful interview with the tutor before you are accepted on to the course. Course Overview:

You will become part of a choir which specialises in unaccompanied music of all periods, especially English part-songs and madrigals.

The choir is led by the Director of Music, Geoffrey Bowyer who arranges and composes as well as conducting four local choirs.

Entry Requirements:

Membership of Cantanti Camerati is limited to 36 singers and entry is by audition only. If you are interested in joining, contact Geoffrey Bowyer on 020 8894 3773 directly for the cost of membership and entry requirements. Vacancies occasionally arise in all voices.
Cantanti Camerati has a diverse membership of all ages, drawn largely from Richmond and the surrounding area. Most members are strong solo singers and many are talented instrumentalists. This choir is affiliated to RACC.

Course Content:

The choir perform a variety of music at a range of venues ranging from the Purcell Room to Australia House. The works performed by the choir change every year. Concerts are given throughout the year and the choir is also involved in music exchange visits with Richmond’s twin towns of Fontainebleau, Konstanz and Richmond, Virginia.

Additional Information:

You will need to pay the annual membership fee directly to Cantanti Camerati – this fee covers the cost of venues and also the services of the music director.
The Choir rehearses at RACC (term time only).

Attendance:

All members are expected to make a commitment to regular attendance at rehearsals whenever possible although it is appreciated that there are times when members are not able to attend due to other commitments or ill health.
