Course Overview:

This course is for those who would like to gain a confident understanding of how to navigate and use the Mac OS X operating system. This enables you to partake in many of the multimedia courses offered at RACC such as creative web design, Graphic Design, Video and Photo editing courses.

Entry Requirements:

No computer knowledge is necessary to take this course

Course Content:

Navigating the system confidently The Apple Mac desktop Using the Dock Using Spaces Creating, saving and finding files Managing files and folders Components of the computer and how they function together Working with removable media, disks and drives (e.g. Card readers, Digital cameras, video cameras, printing, scanning etc) Useful shortcuts and Common Key Commands Settings and customising the computer Some of the basic applications built into the Mac operating system

Assessment Methods:

Constructive feedback will be given on work carried out on the course, but as this is a non-qualification course there will be no formal in-class assessment
