This is an industry recognised Level 2 qualification providing an ideal preparation for students aiming to work in the IT industry or for those already working in IT who want to enhance their skills. The course embeds CISCO Accreditation within a BTEC Level 2 Certificate.
Students should already have appropriate qualifications (IT, English, Maths) to Level 1 or equivalent. Students may be asked to carry out a numeracy and literacy screening prior to acceptance onto the course.
The course consists of the Cisco CCNA Curriculum and the following BTEC units Communicating in the IT Industry Supporting Organisations with IT On completion of the course you will Be a CISCO qualified specialist know how to communicate information to suit audience, purpose and content know how to use IT tools to communicate and exchange information understand the impact of IT on individuals, communities and society Know the ways in which organisations use IT Understand the reasons why organisations use IT Understand the impact of IT on individuals and organisations Be able to plan a working environment to incorporate IT. All units are assessed and individually graded and an overall grade is awarded for the qualification. You learn by completing projects and assignments, based on workplace scenarios. The course will prepare you for employment or for study at advanced level and is an ideal starting point for those considering a career in IT
Learners will be assessed formally through coursework which will be a combination of written work, production of artefacts, presentations, projects, observations etc. This is a level 2 course and all student work is externally moderated by the relevant board
