This two-week course covers the basics of marketing for small businesses. Learners will develop an understanding of the format of a marketing plan by learning about business models such as the SWOT and STEEPLE analyses. They will also learn about consumer behaviour and the importance of the marketing mix. By the end of the two weeks, learners will be able to start compiling a marketing plan.
A good standard of English is required.

This course can progress onto a 5 week course in Pr, Marketing and Advertising, Further 1 day courses in digital marketing techniques (such as social media or search engine optimisation) or towards professional accreditation such as the Certificate in Marketing (September start)

1. How much homework will I need to do outside of class? There is no formal homework but in-class exercises and assignments will be given. 2. What will happen if I miss a class? There are no formal consequences but given the brevity of the course, you will learn considerably less. 3. When will the exams take place? There are no exams. 4. Do I need any special clothing or equipment? None needed. 5. Is there any tutorial support? No, but one-to-one feedback and support will be given in class.
