Tutor Approval Required? Yes – You will be required to show evidence of relevant skills either by bringing your certificates or doing an initial assessment task. You will also need a successful interview with the tutor before you are accepted on to the course. Course Overview:

The aim of the qualification is to provide you with an introduction to book-keeping and computerised accounts practices and to process source documents that underpin accurate record keeping. You will also learn the operation of computerised accounts software/packages applied to routine accounting tasks

Entry Requirements:

There are no formal entry requirements but learners must have a good standard of English and maths.
You will have to have successfully completed the Bookkeeping & SAGE Computerised Accounts Level 1 courses

Course Content:

Areas covered at Bookkeeping Level 2 include:
• preparing ledger accounts and control accounts
• correcting errors in business accounts such as identifying errors in ledger accounts
• understanding capital and revenue expenditure
• depreciation
• end of year adjustments
• trial balance.

Areas covered at Computerised Accounts Level 2 include:
• processing accounting transactions
• producing customer and supplier documentation
• producing reports such as aged creditor analysis and sales day book summaries for management purposes.

Assessment Methods:

Bookkeeping: The qualification is assessed by an examination which lasts for 2 hours, plus five minutes reading time. The examination paper consists of a number of practical tasks.

Computerised Accounts: The one and a half hour examination (plus five minutes reading time) will take the form of a scenario in which it is assumed that the candidate is working in an accounts department

The exam will take place in the final week of the course. The awarding body is City and Guilds
