Just how worried local residents are about the effects of the recession was demonstrated last Thursday ( March 26) when hundreds flocked to RACC’s (Richmond Adult Community College’s) Surviving Recession Day.
More than 20 companies and organisations took stands and some 35 experts ran seminars and workshops designed to help people cope with the problems of the economic downturn during the free, day long, event held at the College in Parkshot.

Opening the day, Richmond Park MP, Susan Kramer, praised RACC for providing positive, practical assistance for residents.
“The range of expert help from those who have come together to make this day possible is extremely impressive. This initiative by the College demonstrates a real commitment to the community. As a community we have always pulled together in the past and this is another example of that spirit.”
Surviving Recession Day marked the first phase in an on-going programme by RACC to help all sectors of the community deal with problems created by the recession.
