Art Exhibition - Landscape Action Painting

The first showing of an exciting group of large paintings by the students on BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Art and Design. After constructing their own canvases in the studio, the paintings were created using unexpected, bold, spontaneous and expressive marks with a range of materials, textures and techniques. Much of the work was done outside, painting the landscape during the warm late summer and these final paintings emphasise the physical act of putting paint onto the canvas itself which becomes an essential aspect of the finished work.
