Additional Learning Support (ALS)

Learning Support is provided for learners who have a learning difficulty or disability.


Support provided may include:

• One-to-one tutorials or Workshop support from English and Maths tutors

• In-class support -   note taker, reader, scribe

• Communicator/Signer

• Special exam arrangements

• Specialist software/equipment


Support is provided after discussion and assessment of your needs in a one-to-one interview with our Learning Support Co-ordinator.  Please provide details of your needs at enrolment or speak to your course tutor and ask to be referred to Learning Support.


Learners on Higher Education Courses should apply for the Disbled Student Allowance (DSA), to allow processing time please apply for this as soon as possible.

Learning Support / Mental Wellbeing Drop-in Advice Sessions (term-time only)

You can come and discuss your needs at one of our Drop-in advice sessions.


Learning Support Advice Sessions are available on :

Tuesdays, 12 – 1.30pm                                          

Fridays, 9 - 11am


Mental Wellbeing Learning Advice sessions are available on :

Thursdays, 9.30 - 12.30pm
